We are proud to announce a new partnership with JMIE to be the official sales and service agent of the JMC brand in Townsville.

So who is JMC- Jiangling Motors Co., Ltd. (JMC in abbreviation form) is a key player in the Chinese automotive industry, with commercial vehicle as its core product offering, and has been ranked as one of China Top 100 Listed Companies for consecutive years.

The history of Jiangling Motors Corporation., Ltd. can be traced to a truck repair shop opened in Nanchang in 1952 which operated under the name Nanchang Motors Repair Factory. In January 1993, the company entered into a joint venture with Isuzu and Itochu. The joint venture acquired the non-exclusive right to produce the cab compartment and certain components of N-Series light truck and to assemble vehicles, the company has also operated a commercial vehicle joint venture with Ford Motor Company since 1997.

In 2014, JMC hit record highs in its business indexes with sales revenue reaching 25.5 billion RMB (Approx $5.7Billion AUD) and volume over 276,000 units.

JMC is very aware of the recent attempts by Chinese manufacturers to come into Australia, however JMIE General Manager Feng Wang, believes that JMC has what it takes to make it in the competitive Australian market- “It won’t be easy, but we are quite ready to be very patient and follow a long-term strategy. JMC is one of the leading automobile manufacturers and brands in China. We’re a more premium brand than Great Wall, Foton and JAC. We specialise in the commercial segment and JMC has a good background as far as our product development system goes – from design to quality control – thanks to a joint venture with Ford and Isuzu. So we can deliver very good performance and quality – and we think this is an advantage. The second advantage we have is the pricing itself. In China, JMC is priced 15 per cent higher than others in the segment such as Great Wall and JAC. But to sell in Australia we will ensure aggressive pricing – the same as Great Wall and Foton. And finally, as a brand and manufacturer we’re doing it ourselves – from the dealerships to the importation and distribution. It’s a good way to keep a continuous support from the manufacturer to the market.” However all of these do not just translate into a better chance for sales, he also believes “This means we can also offer great aftersales service, with technical support to convince Australian consumers that we are not for one day but for the long term, and we will care about the customers.”

At Motoco we are very excited by the prospect of a long term partnership with JMC come down to our site at 205 Charters Towers Rd today and “Expect the Unexpected”.
